The adaptation based on Sony's Horizon Zero Dawn, which was announced during CES 2025 in January, will apparently be a TV series. Asad Qizilbash, the head of PlayStation Productions, shared his thoughts on the audience interested in game adaptations if they are done right in an interview with Variety.

Here's What We Know

"I think what people have seen in Hollywood is that video game adaptations, if done right, can actually be very popular, and they scale really well. That’s been a big sea change that I’ve seen in the last five, six years, since we’ve really started to come and deliver some great content"

According to him, it was the "desire to do everything right" that turned the Horizon adaptation from a film into a TV series. It is worth noting that such changes are unlikely to affect the quality of the adaptation or the implementation of the creators' ideas, as the development of the show is only at an early stage.
