The Polish company Movie Games SA, known for the Drug Dealer Simulator series of games, is at the centre of a scandal over an investigation into possible copyright infringement by the indie game Schedule I. Players reacted by massively lowering the ratings of the publisher's games on Steam.

Here's What We Know

Movie Games SA has officially stated that it has not filed a lawsuit against Schedule I developers, but is only investigating the possible copying of plot elements, mechanics, and interface of their game.

The company emphasised that this is a standard procedure for public companies that are obliged to respond to potential intellectual property infringements.

Despite the absence of a formal lawsuit, players expressed their dissatisfaction by leaving negative feedback on the pages of Drug Dealer Simulator and its sequel on Steam. This led to a decrease in the overall rating of the games.

Movie Games SA calls on the community to remain calm and assures that it has no intention of interfering with the sale or development of Schedule I. The investigation is ongoing, and the company promises to inform about its results.
