Foxconn plans to produce two electric cars for the US

Foxconn, known as a contract manufacturer of iPhones for Apple, plans to release two electric car models for the US as part of a global campaign to enter the automotive market.
Here's What We Know
According to Automotive News, Jun Seki, one of Foxconn's top executives and a former Nissan employee, presented the company's achievements as a contract manufacturer of electric cars to global automakers at a press conference on 9 April. He outlined Foxconn's plans to produce a line of six light electric vehicles:
- Model C midsize crossover
- Model B compact sports crossover
- Model D crossover minivan
- Model E sporty mid-size sedan
- Model A compact van
In addition, Foxconn intends to release the Model T large electric bus and the Model U minibus.
Seki said his company has the toolset to design and assemble a full range of electric vehicles. They will initially be manufactured in Taiwan and shipped globally, although Foxconn may also manufacture locally in different regions depending on customer needs.
Foxconn plans to export the Model C to the US for customers who want to test drive it in the fourth quarter of 2025. The Model D crossover minivan is scheduled to be released in the US in 2027. Vehicles for the US market are expected to eventually be manufactured in America.
Planned for America, the Model C (in the image below the article title), is Foxconn's first production electric car. In Taiwan, this model has been in production since December 2023 under the name Luxgen N7. It has a 172-kilowatt (234 hp) motor in the rear-wheel-drive version and double the power for the all-wheel-drive system. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.8 seconds.
The Luxgen N7 comes with either a 58 kWh or 83 kWh battery. Depending on the battery, Foxconn estimates a range of 500 kilometres (310 miles) or 700 kilometres (435 miles) under the legacy NEDC cycle, which is more lenient than the WLTP and EPA ratings.

Seki's rendering of the North American version of the Model C is a sleek crossover with wavy side panels and a truncated front body. The larger Model D, also planned for the U.S., will get a long wheelbase, sloping rear window and short bonnet. This vehicle will also be equipped with air suspension.
