New wave of layoffs at Electronic Arts: 200 more employees lose their jobs amid optimisation

As soon as we learned about the dismissal of about 100 developers at Respawn Entertainment, Electronic Arts announced a new, even more massive wave of layoffs. This time, the company said goodbye to another 200 employees, which mainly affected the Experiences team, which is responsible for player support, fan service, and marketing. Nevertheless, according to IGN, other EA divisions have also been cut.
Here's What We Know
In its official statement, Electronic Arts explained these measures by "continuing to focus on long-term strategic priorities" and the need to "more effectively align teams and allocate resources to drive future growth".
The company assured that it is treating its employees "with care and respect throughout this process", trying to minimise the impact by helping those affected to find new opportunities within the company whenever possible and providing support during the transition period.
This brings the total number of Electronic Arts employees laid off to about 300 today alone, including the previously announced cuts at Respawn, where two unannounced projects were cancelled and the Apex Legends and Star Wars Jedi teams were streamlined.
