Sony is preparing to unveil the Xperia 1 VII on 15 May, and ahead of that, our colleagues at Android Headlines have received a huge leak that gives us a detailed look at the phone.

Here's What We Know

The leak reveals not only the design of the device in three colours, but also some of the features that the new device offers.

Sony Xperia 1 VII will be available in black, green and purple colours. A total of 39 images were provided showing the phone from different angles. The design remains unchanged: a rectangular body with a flat screen and a back panel. The upper and lower bezels are slightly wider, which allows the front camera to be placed without the need for cutouts on the screen.

Physical buttons are located on the right side of the phone. Here you can find the power/lock button, which also serves as a fingerprint scanner, as well as the volume buttons. Below is the shutter button, which is a recognisable feature for Sony users.

On the back is the triple camera setup, located as a single unit in the upper left corner. The cameras are arranged vertically, and Xperia 1 VII has once again partnered with ZEISS to use T* coating to reduce glare.

The first two cameras are ultra-wide-angle and main (wide-angle), and the third is a periscopic telephoto lens. In addition, there is a headphone jack on the top panel, which distinguishes this smartphone from many modern flagships.

Marketing materials, mostly in Japanese, reveal additional details, although the exact specifications have not yet been announced. However, the images suggest that the Xperia 1 VII retains Sony's characteristic design.
