French President Emmanuel Macron said that all CAESAR wheeled self-propelled artillery systems manufactured by 2025 would be transferred to Ukraine.

Here's What We Know

During a broadcast on TF1Info, Macron confirmed that France would continue to support Ukraine and plans to significantly increase the production of CAESAR. In particular, he noted that in 2025, all new units of this type will be used for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

France has significantly increased the production of artillery systems: while before the full-scale invasion, only two self-propelled artillery systems were produced per month, the rate is now increasing to 12 units per month. The chassis, supplied by Arquus, is manufactured at four-day intervals.

CAESAR has become the main artillery system in Europe. France has already ordered 109 of the latest CAESAR NG, Belgium - 28, Lithuania - 18, Estonia - 12 Mk I, Portugal - 36, the Czech Republic - 62 units in the 8×8 version, and Armenia - 36 Mk I. Ukraine has already received 37 CAESARs from France and Denmark and plans to receive 78 more under the international initiative. Bulgaria, Luxembourg and Slovenia are also planning to purchase the system.

Earlier it was reported that 90% of the barrels for CAESAR manufactured by KNDS are supplied to Ukraine. In addition, KNDS has doubled the production of 155-mm shells at its La Chapelle-Saint-Joursen plant, with 100,000 units expected to be produced by the end of the year.
