Microsoft has made a surprise announcement that will delight retro gaming fans.

Here's What We Know

Together with Antstream Arcade, the US giant has offered Game Pass subscribers a collection of 50 classic games published by Activision in the 80s and 90s.

The Retro Classics collection includes such hits as Commando, Grand Prix, Kaboom!, Mech Warrior 2: Combat 31st Century, Pitfall and many other famous games.

These can be accessed on PC and Xbox consoles via a Game Pass account or the Xbox app. Moreover, Antstream Arcade has added a small competitive component to the retro games by completing various tasks and earning Achievements.

Microsoft intrigued with the thesis that "this is just the beginning". It's likely that gamers can expect other similar collections in the future.
