Samsung is working on an update to its mid-range Galaxy A series, and one of the first leaks about the upcoming Galaxy A57 was a new processor - the Exynos 1680.

Here's What We Know

According to GalaxyClub, this chip could be the basis for a 2026 device, promising a significant performance boost.

The Galaxy A57 will replace the Galaxy A56, which debuted in 2025 with the Exynos 1580 processor. The new Exynos 1680 (model S5E8865) is likely to feature Xclipse 550 graphics, Samsung's proprietary GPU based on AMD's RDNA 3.5 architecture. The same graphics are rumoured to be in the flagship Exynos 2500, which may appear in the Galaxy S26 and Z Flip 7.

Although the exact specifications of the new chip are still unknown, a 15-25% performance boost is expected. AnTuTu scores can reach 1.1-1.2 million, and graphics performance can reach up to 350 thousand points. The Exynos 1680 is likely to remain on the 4nm process, but will have a 1+4+3 core configuration.

As a reminder, the Galaxy A56 had a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a triple camera with a 50MP main sensor, a 5000mAh battery, and 45W charging. The Galaxy A57 is expected to feature an improved camera with a telephoto lens (2x or 3x zoom), as well as 4K 60fps video recording. The estimated price is ₹45,990 (~$550), and it will be released in the first half of 2026.

Galaxy A56 has a new camera design inspired by the Galaxy Fold series. Now, the three lenses are located in a single elongated block, rather than separately, as in previous models.
