Whiskas has introduced a series of video podcasts called Purrcast, designed for kitten owners who do not have enough experience in caring for an animal. The project aims to close an informational gap: according to the brand's internal research, 72% of new "cat parents" admit that they were unprepared for the arrival of an animal in the house.

The main characters of the podcast are two animated cats, Caspurr and Agnes, who talk about the basic aspects of care in a friendly and simple way: nutrition, behavioural characteristics, the importance of adaptation and first visits to the vet. The videos last about one minute and are designed for social platforms where people are often looking for quick answers to specific questions.

A typical cat dialogue in a podcast looks like this:

- What did you do?
- Nothing.
- So a human screaming at 3am is "nothing", right?
- Okay, fine. I bit his toe a little bit.
- I've heard that people's toes are tempting. And you kittens are natural hunters, so people shouldn't worry too much when you get a little cocky. It's just part of your nature.
- I am who I am.
- But if you keep doing this when you get older, people will need to learn to direct those bites and scratches to safe objects - toys, scratchers, balls.
- Okay, I remember - no toe biting. The person will be happy. What about your fingers?

Context.

Whiskas positions Purrcast as a long-term project that can adapt to different markets. The company has already planned localisations for other languages, as well as the launch of the audio format on Spotify. The podcast was created with the habits of a young audience in mind, which rarely seeks instructions or advice, but instead seeks information in video format or on social media.

In this way, the brand not only promotes its expertise in cat care, but also creates added value for the consumer through a format that is convenient for the modern user.
