Ubisoft Montreal has confirmed that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake will be released sometime in the first quarter of 2026. In the meantime, the developers are sharing new details that fuel interest in one of the most anticipated remakes of recent years.

Here's What We Know

Ubisoft Montreal wrote that the studio is "still deep in the game - researching, building, and ensuring that the sands are moving with purpose". This message, although not a full trailer, gives hope for progress in development.

The developers also assured fans that the remake is being created by "a team that really cares, and they put their hearts (and lots of coffee) into every step."

The tweet also included new artwork that gives an idea of the updated visual style.

Despite the lack of a new trailer, the remake has received many other details. It has been confirmed that it will include redesigned levels and combat system, and Ubisoft Toronto (known for Watch Dogs: Legion, Far Cry 6) joined the development as a co-developer last year. Game director Michael McIntyre also noted that the story will not change, although Farah will be "more present" and have "more interactions" with the Prince.

A significant part of the new content will be "often optional" - fans should not expect a lot of additional scenes either. This means that Ubisoft aims to expand the story without departing from the original idea, giving players the opportunity to explore new elements at will.
