Sony has started selling its flagship Bravia 8 II TVs, featuring a 4K UHD-OLED panel that delivers 50 per cent more brightness than previous models.

Here's What We Know

The Bravia 8 II with 55″ and 65″ diagonals has gone on sale only in India for now, but it is expected to go on sale in other regions soon. We already know the price and it may upset potential buyers: 55″ model (K-55XR80M2) costs $2800, 65″ model (K-65XR80M2) - almost $4000.

As a reminder, the Bravia 8 II supports Studio Calibrated modes, developed in collaboration with popular streaming services Netflix, Disney+ and Amazon Prime Video, to ensure the most accurate colour reproduction possible. The TV utilises the Google TV platform, which provides access to popular apps and supports Google Cast and Apple AirPlay 2.

The Bravia Cam allows you to control the TV using gestures and adjust the picture and sound depending on the viewer's position.

The TV is ideal for connecting to PlayStation 5, and automatically activates HDR in game mode. The Bravia 8 II supports HDR10, HLG, Dolby Vision and IMAX Enhanced and has an HDMI 2.1 port so you can run games in 4K at 120FPS.

Support for Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 is provided

The Acoustic Surface Audio+ audio system uses panel vibrations for quality sound, while the AI-powered Voice Zoom 3 technology amplifies or attenuates the volume of dialogues depending on the surroundings.
