The powerful Ayaneo Pocket S2 handheld console with hardware ray tracing is now available for pre-order

Chinese company Ayaneo, which specialises in the release of gamer gadgets, has opened pre-order portable console Pocket S2, which, unlike most of the manufacturer's products, is focused not on retro-gaming, but on fans of modern games and powerful iron.

Pre-order for Ayaneo Pocket S2 is open on Indiegogo, which is offered in S2, S2 Pro and S2 Pro Limited Edition versions.
All models get a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon G3 Gen 3 chipset and a 6.3″ IPS display with a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels and a brightness of 600 nits. The sRGB gamut coverage is 120% and DCI-P3 gamut coverage is 90%.
Thanks to its flagship processor, the console supports hardware ray tracing, making it suitable for modern games with high graphics requirements. Joysticks and triggers are based on Hall technology, which eliminates stick slip. The body of the device is made of solid aluminium, which gives it durability and stylish design.








The main difference between the models is the amount of RAM:
- The base S2 is available with 8/12GB LPDDR5x-8533 and 128/256GB UFS 3.1/4.0;
- TheS2 Pro and S2 Pro Limited Edition are offered with 16GB of RAM and 512/1024GB of storage.
The Pro versions also have a detachable D-Pad.
The batteries are different too: 8,000 mAh with 40W charging in the base S2 and 10,000 mAh with 60W charging in the S2 Pro.
There are USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, 3.5mm ports and a microSD card slot.
The consoles run on OC Android 14 with the proprietary AYA Home Launcher shell.
The Ayaneo Pocket S2 starts at $439 for first time buyers. Later, the price will go up to $499 (remember, the Nintendo Switch 2 costs $450).
