Defying failure: horror game The Callisto Protocol has attracted more than 7 million players

The Callisto Protocol, a space horror game from Dead Space creator Glen Schofield, was supposed to revolutionise the genre, but when released in late 2022, the game only managed to showcase mediocre gameplay design, a weak story, and a myriad of technical issues.
The Callisto Protocol is considered a big financial failure by publisher Krafton, but at the same time it can't be said that nobody is interested in the game.
Here's What We Know
Krafton's head of US publishing, Blake Hennon, indicated on his LinkedIn page that The Callisto Protocol has attracted 7.2 million players. This number doesn't correlate to the number of copies sold, as the horror game was available on Xbox Game Pass and participated in Epic Games Store giveaways several times.
Still, 7 million isn't a bad number.

By the way, there is an 85% discount on The Callisto Protocol on Steam until 10 July and the game can be purchased for just $9. Considering that its technical condition is already much better than at release, this is a great offer.
