Huawei launched the budget clamshell Nova Flip S
Huawei announced a new flip-format folding smartphone — Nova Flip S. The smartphone continues the Nova Flip line launched in August, but has a somewhat more democratic price and new bright body colors.
The color palette of the Nova Flip S is truly impressive — the clamshell is available in six color options: Feather Black, White, Azure Blue, Green, Soft Pink, and Star Black. The price is also pleasantly affordable — the version with 8 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage costs approximately $475 in yuan conversion. This makes the Nova Flip S one of the most affordable foldable smartphones in the Chinese market.
Regarding other technical specifications — Nova Flip S received an unnamed Kirin 8 series chip, probably Kirin 8030. For comparison, the previous Nova Flip operated on Kirin 8000.
Other specifications remain unchanged: the external OLED display has a diagonal of 2.14 inches, and the main display is 6.94 inches, made using LTPO OLED technology with FHD+ resolution and an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz. The 4400 mAh battery supports wired charging with a power of 66 W.
The cameras include a main 50-megapixel sensor with a size of 1/1.56 inches, RYYB technology, and an f/1.9 aperture, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 32 MP front camera. The smartphone runs on HarmonyOS 5.1 and is already available for pre-order in China.
