Apple's Upcoming Mac Neo: A $300 Mini-PC with A19 Pro Chipset and Vibrant Colors
Apple simultaneously develops two opposite gadget lines: Apple's 2026 Ultra Line: Foldable iPhone and OLED MacBook Set to Revolutionize Premium Market, which will include the long-awaited MacBook with a touch OLED screen, the first foldable iPhone, and AirPods Ultra TWS headphones with built-in cameras and infrared sensors. Meanwhile, in March, the first budget MacBook with the Neo prefix debuted — the novelty costs only $600 and is in such high demand that Apple had to urgently ramp up production of A18 Pro mobile chips.
It seems that the experiment with the budget computer was so successful that Apple is preparing another similar device.
What is known
According to several media reports, Apple plans to release a budget mini-PC Mac Neo, which will become a more affordable counterpart to the Mac Mini.
Most likely, the Mac Neo will feature a mobile A19 Pro chipset, which is used in the iPhone 17 Pro. The new product will be equipped with 12 GB of RAM, and the choice of processor indicates that it will go on sale in 2027. Power consumption will be 35 watts.
It is expected that the performance of the Mac Neo will be limited to basic tasks such as browsing web pages and working with documents, but considering its price of $300, it is strange to expect more from the nettop.
In terms of design, the Mac Neo will not differ from the Mac Mini except for the bright case colors, like the MacBook Neo and Apple TV.
