SNK Unveils Neo Geo AES+: Classic Console Returns with Original Cartridge Support and HDMI Output

SNK, together with Plaion Replai, presented a remake of the classic Neo Geo AES console. The new version is called Neo Geo AES+ and supports original cartridges.

What is Known

The console features an HDMI output with support for resolutions up to 1080p. On the bottom of the case, there are DIP switches to change language, display modes, and system settings. An AV output is also provided for connection to CRT TVs.

Neo Geo AES+ supports result saves on a memory card and has a low power consumption mode.

Pre-orders are open for two versions of the device. The standard black model costs $250 and comes with an arcade joystick. The 35th-anniversary edition in a white case is priced at $350. It includes a joystick, a limited edition Metal Slug cartridge, and a memory card.

Together with the console, 10 cartridges with updated game versions, including The King of Fighters 2002, are planned for release. Each will cost $90.

The launch of Neo Geo AES+ shipments is scheduled for November 12, 2026.
