New information has emerged online about the delay of the release of Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis — a remake of the very first adventure action game about Lara Croft.

Tomb Raider Remake Delayed: Fans May Wait Until 2027 for Lara Croft's New Adventure that the game's release had been postponed to February 2027, although it was previously assumed that it would be released in October, to coincide with the anniversary of the original.

Now fresh data has been shared by the host of the Tombs, Tea & Trauma podcast, and it confirms the previous leak.

What is known

The blogger reported that in June, Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will receive a new trailer in which the release date—February 12, 2027—will be announced. Obviously, this will happen at one of the major shows at the beginning of the month, and given the scale of the game, it can be expected that it will be the Summer Game Fest 2026, which starts on June 5.

Let us remind you that the game is being developed by Crystal Dynamics and the Polish studio Flying Wild Hog. The remake of Tomb Raider 1, which was released in 1996, will offer locations recreated from scratch on Unreal Engine 5 in Greece, Egypt, Peru, and other iconic locations, but now Lara Croft's adventures will look incredibly high-tech and cinematic — dinosaurs are much more detailed, and the heroine's chest is no longer triangular.

The game's difficulty will also be adjusted, as by modern standards the original action may seem too hardcore.

Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.

The delay of Legacy of Atlantis is bad news also because it inevitably leads to a delay in the release of an entirely new game Tomb Raider Catalyst.
