Samsung's Re-Newed Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7: More Expensive Than New?
Samsung has added flagship foldable smartphones Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7, released in mid-summer 2025, to the Re-Newed program. Now the company offers refurbished gadgets at a reduced price in its store.
But there is a nuance
The manufacturer claims that under the Re-Newed program, “all devices have undergone technical maintenance by Samsung specialists and have been repaired using 100% original Samsung parts, including a certified new battery, and come with a one-year Samsung manufacturer's warranty.”
Refurbished smartphones always have a huge advantage: being actually new, they are cheaper, but the pricing of refurbished Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 7 raises questions.
They are indeed cheaper than at the start of sales in July 2025, but if you compare some models with current prices on the Samsung website, for example, the brand new Z Flip 7 is $40 cheaper than the similar Re-Newed model! The same situation is with other configurations.

Samsung's 2025 foldable flagships have received significant updates, becoming thinner and more functional. The Galaxy Z Fold 7 stands out with its record-thin body (about 8.9 mm folded) and transition to a main 200 MP camera, while its internal screen has increased to 8”. The Galaxy Z Flip 7, in turn, features an enlarged external display of 4.1” (FlexWindow) that now wraps around the camera lenses and a larger battery with a capacity of 4300 mAh. Both devices are powered by the latest chipsets (Snapdragon 8 Elite for Fold and Exynos 2500 for Flip), support advanced Galaxy AI functions, and received an improved IP48 protection standard.
