If you care about raw Android performance, April 2026's AnTuTu results make the picture clear: the iQOO 15 Ultra posted a 4,126,940 average score to claim the top spot, and Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 powered nine of the ten phones on the list. MediaTek managed a single entry. That near-total dominance matters because it shapes which phones OEMs actually build — and which ones reach shelves outside China.

The scores

The iQOO 15 Ultra, a gaming-focused flagship with an aggressive cooling system, edged out its sibling the iQOO 15 (4,102,621) in second. Red Magic 11 Pro+ — which led the chart for several months running thanks to its AquaCore liquid-cooling tech — fell to third with 4,098,742. Three brands landed two models each in the top ten: iQOO, OnePlus (the 15T and the Ace 6 Ultra), and Honor (Magic8 and Magic8 Pro), per AnTuTu's official ranking.

The only non-Snapdragon phone in the top ten is the OnePlus Ace 6 Ultra, running MediaTek's Dimensity 9500. It's a respectable showing for MediaTek, but a lone entry against nine rivals signals the chip gap is real. Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 delivers roughly 20% faster CPU performance and a 23% GPU improvement over the previous generation, according to Android Authority. MediaTek closes some distance in ray-tracing and thermal efficiency, but not enough to dominate benchmark tables.

What this means if you're buying

AnTuTu rankings use average scores across at least 1,000 test runs — not cherry-picked peaks — so they reflect sustained performance rather than one-off spikes.

The iQOO 15 Ultra itself is not sold through mainstream UK retailers. Grey-market imports via specialist shops (Giztop, Geekwills) put it at roughly £688–£815 with no official warranty. If you want top-tier Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 performance through a proper UK channel, the OnePlus 15 — which placed second on a different monthly chart and is widely available — is the more practical pick.

The cooling arms race visible here (AquaCore liquid cooling, vapour-chamber setups, active fan designs) reflects the reality that sustained gaming loads push these chips hard. A benchmark lead in a controlled test doesn't always survive a 45-minute gaming session at full brightness. That context is worth keeping in mind before treating any chart position as a definitive verdict.
