Vivo patented a smartphone with a flying camera: it is mounted on a mini-drone that hides in the phone's body

Manufacturers continue to experiment with smartphone camera layouts. This time it's Vivo's turn.

What we know

Our colleagues at LetsGoDigital found a patent for an unusual brand smartphone in the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) database. Externally, the device looks like an ordinary phone, but it has a retractable structure at the top. It hides a compact drone with two cameras (one looking up and the other sideways) and three infrared sensors. Thanks to this, you can take pictures from the air.

By the way, the idea of aerial selfies is no longer new. At one time, AirSelfie released the AIR PIX drone specifically for this, but Vivo went even further and installed it in a smartphone. Naturally, such a device exists only on paper. It is unlikely that it will enter the market.
