Star Wars Zero Company picks up age ratings — a release date announcement may be close

EA's Star Wars tactics game Zero Company has quietly received age ratings in multiple countries, a step publishers typically complete only once a game is nearly done. Brazil awarded it 14+ and South Korea 15+, both citing moderate but realistic violence, explosions, and some profanity. With Summer Game Fest kicking off on June 5, a release date announcement could be only weeks away.

The game

Star Wars Zero Company is a turn-based tactics title developed by Bit Reactor — a studio founded by Greg Foertsch and other veterans of Firaxis, the team behind the XCOM reboot — in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment, with EA publishing. If you liked XCOM 2 or Chimera Squad, the studio's pedigree is hard to ignore.

The game is set during the Clone Wars and follows a squad of mercenaries led by Hawks, a customizable former Republic officer. Your roster includes a Jedi Knight, a clone trooper, and several Mandalorians, each with distinct abilities. A permadeath mode is available for those who want higher stakes, and a character relationship system promises to affect how effectively squadmates fight alongside each other. According to the rating description, the story spans from the Clone Wars through to the early rise of the Galactic Empire.

What to expect

The ratings were flagged by fan outlet Bespin Bulletin, which noted that multiple agencies issued them within the same week — an unusually fast cluster. Games typically receive ratings shortly before their release date is locked in. The South Korean rating was issued April 30, 2026, per Twisted Voxel.

The Summer Game Fest opening showcase on June 5 is the most plausible venue for a reveal, given the game's scale and EA's history of using high-profile shows for major announcements. The content descriptors — realistic violence and some strong language — are relatively mild for the genre, though Disney's brand standards for the Star Wars franchise are likely to keep things from getting too dark.

Zero Company is confirmed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S sometime in 2026. No pricing or pre-order details have been announced yet.
