RedMagic 11S Pro launches May 18 with a hand-picked 4.74GHz chip and a 7,500mAh battery
RedMagic's next gaming phone has a confirmed launch date: May 18. The RedMagic 11S Pro runs a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in its "Leading Version" trim — a hand-binned variant clocked at 4.74GHz, up from the standard 4.61GHz — and pairs it with a 7,500mAh battery built for all-day gaming. If that sounds like a lot of phone, it is.
The chip story
The Leading Version chip doesn't just get a higher clock speed by default. Gizmochina reports each unit passes a three-stage testing and selection process before it qualifies for the 4.74GHz rating. Samsung uses a similar approach for the Galaxy S26 Ultra's tweaked silicon, but keeps the details private. RedMagic publishes them openly — a rare move in a market where binning is usually a behind-the-scenes trick.
Keeping that chip from throttling under load is an updated AquaCore liquid cooling system, which RedMagic claims is the first mass-produced liquid cooler in a smartphone. The phone also carries a built-in fan — visible on the back — that signals exactly what this device is for.
Battery and display
The 7,500mAh cell matches what the previous RedMagic 11 Pro carried, which is a lot for a phone this size. Charging tops out at 80W wired and wireless — not the fastest on the Chinese market, but a deliberate choice to preserve long-term battery health. GSMArena confirms the same specs across official and third-party sources.
The screen is a 6.85-inch AMOLED running at 144Hz with Full HD+ resolution. The front camera sits under the display, leaving the panel completely uninterrupted — no punch-hole, no island cutout. For gaming, that matters more than it sounds.
Pricing and availability
RedMagic has not yet announced pricing or Western market availability for the 11S Pro. The RedMagic 11 Pro launched last November at £629 in the UK and $749 in the US, so that's a reasonable starting point for expectations. The 11S Pro's May 18 debut is confirmed for China; a global rollout date has not been set. RAM and storage configurations haven't been announced either.
If you're a competitive mobile gamer — Genshin, CoD Mobile, anything that punishes thermal throttling — the 11S Pro is worth watching. It's one of the few phones that treats cooling and battery life as primary specs rather than afterthoughts.
