PS Plus Extra and Premium Add Red Dead Redemption 2, Star Wars Outlaws, and Five More in May

Red Dead Redemption 2 and Star Wars Outlaws join PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium on May 19, giving subscribers two of the biggest recent titles without an extra charge. The addition lands just 24 hours before Sony raises the Essential tier price for new sign-ups — a coincidence that makes the mid-tier subscriptions look like the better deal right now.

The games

Seven titles go live on May 19, per the PlayStation.Blog announcement:

- Star Wars Outlaws (PS5) - Red Dead Redemption 2 (PS4) - Bramble: The Mountain King (PS4, PS5) - The Thaumaturge (PS5) - Flintlock: The Siege of Dawn (PS5) - Broken Sword — Shadow of the Templars: Reforged (PS4, PS5) - Enotria: The Last Song (PS5)

Premium subscribers also get Time Crisis, the 1997 light-gun arcade classic, updated with gyro aiming support on PS5.

RDR2's arrival is worth noting in context. Grand Theft Auto 6 is expected in November 2026, and Sony pulling Rockstar's previous open-world epic into the catalog now is a clear move to keep players engaged on PlayStation through that hype cycle. Star Wars Outlaws, meanwhile, was a commercial underperformer at launch in 2024 — its catalog debut roughly 18 months after release shows Sony is willing to move major AAA titles into the subscription fairly quickly.

The price angle

Starting May 20, new PlayStation Plus Essential subscribers in the US pay $10.99/month, and UK subscribers pay £7.99/month (up from £6.99), reports TalkESport. The increase applies to new subscribers only — if your subscription is currently active, your rate does not change unless it lapses. Extra and Premium tier pricing is unchanged and no increase for those tiers has been announced.

The practical takeaway: if you are already on Extra or Premium, nothing changes on May 20. If your subscription lapsed recently and you were planning to rejoin at Essential, the price is now higher. And if you were on the fence about upgrading to Extra, a catalog that now includes RDR2 and Star Wars Outlaws is a reasonable nudge.

All seven Extra/Premium titles are available globally from May 19, though PlayStation notes catalog availability may vary by region — check the PlayStation Store to confirm what's live in your country.
