Marvel's Wolverine from Insomniac Games headlines the show, and the September 15 release date makes it one of the biggest PS5 exclusives of the year — with a catch PC gamers won't like.

PS5 only — and that's the point
Wolverine launches September 15, 2026, as a PS5 exclusive. No PC version is planned — and that's not an oversight. Bloomberg reported that PlayStation head Hermen Hulst announced internally on May 18 that Sony is halting PC ports for narrative single-player games going forward. It's a sharp reversal from the strategy Sony adopted around 2020, when it began releasing titles like God of War and Horizon on PC years after their console debuts.
The timing puts Wolverine in direct competition with GTA 6, which is also targeting fall 2026. Sony appears to be positioning the game as the reason to own a PS5 rather than wait — or skip the console entirely in favor of PC.
What it means
For PS5 owners, this is straightforwardly good news: a flagship Marvel game with full Insomniac polish, arriving as a console exclusive with no diluted multi-platform compromise. For PC gamers, the door appears firmly closed — at least for now. Sony's new stance makes Wolverine the first real test of whether exclusive hardware value still moves consoles in a market increasingly comfortable with PC gaming.
