GTA VI is coming November 19, 2026 — and this time the date carries real financial weight. Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick reaffirmed the release date at the company's Q4 FY2026 earnings call, projecting $8.0–$8.2 billion in net bookings for fiscal 2027, a 20% jump over the prior year. That forecast is built almost entirely on GTA VI shipping on schedule, leaving no practical room for another delay.

Three delays, one final date

Zelnick has made this promise before. GTA VI has slipped twice already — from an original spring 2025 target to May 2026, then to November 2026, an 18-month total drift. Each time, Zelnick expressed the same confidence. What's different now is the money: the SEC Filing (Take-Two Q4 FY2026) ties "record operating performance" directly to the November 19 launch. As Notebookcheck analysis frames it, an $8 billion hinge makes further delay financially untenable.

The game launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC version has not been announced — based on the timelines for GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2, a 2027 window seems likely, but nothing is official.

The numbers behind the franchise

To put the stakes in context: GTA V has sold 230 million copies since 2013, making it the best-selling game in industry history. The broader GTA franchise has moved 470 million units across all titles. Red Dead Redemption 2 sits at 85 million copies, placing it third on Take-Two's all-time list behind Minecraft.

On price, Zelnick deflected on the earnings call, promising only "fair value" across multiple editions. Analyst estimates range from $70 to $100, but nothing is confirmed. Competitors EA and Activision hold the $70 baseline for major titles.

What's next beyond GTA VI

Take-Two also outlined its 2027–2029 pipeline: eight sequels and seven remakes or remasters across 15 existing franchises, three entirely new IPs, eight sports titles, and three mobile games. Rockstar's marketing campaign for GTA VI is set to begin "imminently," per Zelnick — he also dismissed a May 18 pre-order rumour, saying he had no idea where it originated and urging players to wait for an official announcement.
