Samsung has released One UI 9 Beta 2 for the Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra — and if you're already enrolled in the beta program in the US or UK, the update should be waiting for you now. The build lands just 13 days after Beta 1, a noticeably faster pace than the 15–16 day gaps Samsung took between betas for One UI 8. That acceleration suggests the Android 17 codebase is stabilizing ahead of a planned stable release in July, per 9to5Google.

The fixes

Beta 2 is largely a polish release. The most welcome change removes the GPUWatch popups that annoyed users in the first build. Samsung also fixed clock font and positioning on the lock screen, patched bugs in the Routines app, corrected status bar errors, sped up bulk notification deletion, and optimized Game Booster settings. The update weighs in at up to 3.76 GB depending on region and includes the June 2026 security patch — an unusually current patch level for a beta build, which points to a production-ready codebase.

Who gets it

The beta is open to Galaxy S26 series owners in the US, UK, Germany, South Korea, India, and Poland, according to the Samsung Global Newsroom. India and Poland are new additions as of May 26 — users there skip Beta 1 entirely and receive this more refined build directly. You can join via the Samsung Members app if you haven't already.

If your S26 feels like the battery drains faster than usual after installing, that's normal for beta firmware. No widespread hardware issues have been flagged in US or UK user communities, and Samsung typically resolves battery behavior before stable release.

What's next

The stable One UI 9 rollout is expected in July 2026, timed alongside the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8. Owners of the S25 and S24 series are looking at a later window — likely Q3 to Q4 2026. The fast two-beta cadence so far makes the July target look realistic.
