Lofree has announced the Flow 2 for Mac, a Mac-specific version of its popular low-profile mechanical keyboard priced at $159 for the 75-key layout and $169 for the full 100-key with numpad. The timing is deliberate: the MacBook Neo — Apple's $599 entry-level laptop launched in March 2026 — sold out in the US and UK within weeks, pulling in a wave of first-time Mac buyers. Lofree is going after that same crowd.

The look

The keyboard comes in four colors — Nebula, Petal, Volt, and Silver — designed to match the MacBook Neo's matte anodized aluminum finish. The body itself is aircraft-grade aluminum, and the overall aesthetic is a close match to Apple's palette. A touch strip on the side of the chassis lets you adjust screen brightness or volume without reaching for the trackpad.

Unlike the MacBook Neo's keyboard, the Flow 2 for Mac adds per-key backlighting — up to 13 hours with it on, or 90–120 hours with it off, from a 2,000 mAh battery. Polling rate is 1,000 Hz. The default layout is native macOS, but the board also works with iPadOS, iOS, Windows, and Android.

The switches

Three Cloud Series switch variants are available: Surfer (smooth linear), Void (quiet tactile), and Pulse (standard tactile). Switches are hot-swappable, rated for 50 million keystrokes, and configurable via VIA software. Connection options are USB-C wired, Bluetooth, or 2.4 GHz wireless dongle.

One flag to note

User reviews of the standard Flow 2 document Bluetooth dropout issues on macOS, with the 2.4 GHz dongle as the only reliable workaround. Lofree hasn't publicly addressed whether the Mac variant fixes this. For anyone buying this specifically as a wireless Mac keyboard, that's worth knowing before committing to a pre-order.

Availability

Pre-orders are open now via Lofree's official site, with shipping projected for late July 2026. The Flow 2 for Mac sits between Apple's own Magic Keyboard and the premium mechanical segment — which makes it an easy upsell for anyone already shopping for MacBook Neo accessories. Whether the Bluetooth issue carries over to this version will be the real test at launch.
