Acer has slipped a dual-display phone onto the market without a press conference or countdown timer. The Sospiro A15, listed by Acer Mobile LATAM on its official site, puts a small secondary screen near the camera block — the same trick that made the Xiaomi 17 Pro a talking point when it launched in September 2025. There's a catch: it's exclusive to select Latin American markets for now, with no US, UK, or EU availability announced.

The second screen

The rear 1.88-inch TFT panel handles notifications, music controls, and doubles as a viewfinder for selfies shot on the main camera. It's a more modest implementation than the Xiaomi 17 Pro's LTPO AMOLED rear panel, but the use case is the same. The main screen is a 6.67-inch HD+ IPS display running at 120Hz, with a teardrop notch for the 16MP front camera — which also has its own flash.

Under the hood sits a Unisoc T615 chip paired with 6GB of RAM (expandable to a virtual 14GB) and 128GB of storage, with a microSD slot supporting up to 1TB. The T615 is a 4G-only processor, so there's no 5G here. A 5,000mAh battery charges at 18W — functional, if not fast by 2026 standards.

Specs and software

The rear camera system leads with a 64MP sensor and LED flash. The phone runs Android 16 out of the box and carries an IP64 dust and splash rating. Connectivity covers NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, VoLTE, and ViLTE. There's a USB-C port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, a built-in FM radio, side-mounted fingerprint reader, and face unlock.

No price, limited reach

Acer hasn't disclosed a price or a firm launch date. The two confirmed colors are Naranja Vibrante (orange) and Azul Profundo (blue). Acer Mobile LATAM operates under a brand license held by Senwa Global International, which limits how far this device can realistically travel — a global rollout seems unlikely in the near term.

The dual-screen budget segment is getting crowded in 2026, with Chinese OEM options already sitting in the $100–$400 range. If the Sospiro A15 lands around $200–$350, it faces stiff competition without 5G as a selling point. For now, it's an interesting regional play — and a sign that rear-display tech is trickling down from flagships, per Gizmochina.
