Sony has confirmed seven games coming to PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium this month, headlined by two big open-world titles — Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Rise of the Ronin. The rollout is staggered: Rise of the Ronin is available to US and UK subscribers today, July 15, while Avatar and the remaining titles land on July 21. Twelve games leave the catalog on the same day, so if you've been meaning to finish Risk of Rain 2 or the original Dying Light, the clock is ticking.

The new arrivals

Rise of the Ronin (PS5) is Team Ninja's open-world action RPG set in late-19th-century Japan — a game that launched at $70 less than two years ago and earned strong reviews for its combat. It's the standout early addition for Extra subscribers.

Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (PS5) follows on July 21. Ubisoft's first-person open-world game set on Pandora was a solid, if unspectacular, addition to the franchise when it launched in late 2023. At this point it's worth trying for free.

Also arriving July 21: Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (PS5) and the two PS2 classics Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy and Fahrenheit (known as Indigo Prophecy in the US) — both exclusive to the Premium tier.

Rounding out the month on July 28: Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind (PS4/PS5), Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PS5), Dying Light (PS4), and Snow Bros. Wonderland (PS5).

Full July additions — PS Plus Extra and Premium: - Rise of the Ronin (PS5) — July 15 - Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora (PS5) — July 21 - Firefighting Simulator: Ignite (PS5) — July 21 - Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Rita's Rewind (PS4/PS5) — July 28 - Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (PS5) — July 28 - Dying Light (PS4) — July 28 - Snow Bros. Wonderland (PS5) — July 28

Premium only (July 21): - Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy (PS2) - Fahrenheit / Indigo Prophecy (PS2)

What's leaving July 21

Twelve titles exit the catalog on July 21, per PlayStation Blog:

- Risk of Rain 2 (PS4/PS5) - Tropico 6 (PS4/PS5) - Clash: Artifacts of Chaos (PS4/PS5) - Röki (PS4/PS5) - Source of Madness (PS4/PS5) - Cursed to Golf (PS4/PS5) - Hundred Days: Winemaking Simulator (PS4/PS5) - Onee Chanbara Origin (PS4) - Get Even (PS4) - Bomber Crew (PS4) - Space Crew: Legendary Edition (PS4) - Infinite Minigolf (PS4)

The staggered rollout — with US and UK subscribers getting Rise of the Ronin nearly a week before the rest of the world — mirrors a regional release window strategy TechTimes notes Sony has been testing since its June catalog. This comes on the heels of PS Plus price hikes in May 2026, making a strong monthly lineup more important than usual for subscriber confidence.
