Xiaomi's Redmi K100 Pro Max debuts in wine-red at ChinaJoy ahead of August 11 launch
Xiaomi has officially shown the Redmi K100 Pro Max for the first time at ChinaJoy in Shanghai, confirming an August 11 launch in China. The reveal matters beyond the hardware: the phone is expected to cost around ¥5,000 (roughly $730), a 54% jump over the K90 Pro Max, suggesting the budget-flagship formula is quietly giving way to outright premium pricing.
The look
The design sticks close to its predecessor, but the standout detail is a deep burgundy finish Xiaomi calls Cabernet Sauvignon Red. It's a striking color choice — one that lands just as Apple is rumored to offer a similar shade on the iPhone 18 Pro. Official renders show slim bezels, a metal camera plateau, and a 6.9-inch display. A floating light ring around the camera module and Bose branding on the speaker grille are both visible in the renders.

The specs
Redmi hasn't published a full spec sheet yet, but leaks consistent across multiple sources paint a clear picture. The K100 Pro Max is expected to pack a 200MP main camera, a 50MP periscope telephoto with optical image stabilization, and a battery north of 9,000mAh with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Audio on the Pro Max variant runs through a Bose 2.1-channel stereo system — a rare feature at any price. The chip is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite (the same generation as the K90 Pro Max), not the rumored next-gen part that earlier leaks suggested.
The full August 11 event will also cover the standard Redmi K100 Pro.
What this means outside China
No UK or US pricing has been announced. The K90 Pro Max was available through grey-market importers like Giztop for around $699, and the K100 Pro Max will likely land in a similar £520–£580 range through unofficial channels before any formal release. The global versions — expected to arrive as the Poco F9 Pro and Poco F9 Ultra — are currently pencilled in for Q1 2027, per Gizmochina. That's a five-to-six month wait after the China debut, meaning enthusiasts keen on the Bose audio or the 200MP camera will almost certainly be reaching for import routes first.
At $730 in China, the K100 Pro Max now sits in the same price conversation as the OnePlus 14 and iQOO 16 — and not far below Samsung's Galaxy S25 territory. The old pitch of near-flagship specs for half the price is harder to make at this point.
