Samsung Galaxy S26 FE camera specs leak — same sensors, higher price
Samsung's Galaxy S26 FE is set to arrive September 1 with a price increase of up to £100 over its predecessor — and leaked specs reveal the camera hardware is largely unchanged. According to Android Authority, the phone carries the same 50MP main sensor used in both the S24 FE and S25 FE, meaning buyers will be paying more for effectively the same shooter.
The cameras
The main module uses Samsung's ISOCELL S5KGN3 — a 1/1.57-inch sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 24mm focal length, Dual Pixel phase-detect autofocus, and optical image stabilization (OIS). That spec sheet is identical to the last two Fan Edition models.
Joining it is an 8MP telephoto lens (OmniVision OV08A10) with 3x optical zoom, f/2.4 aperture, PDAF, and OIS. The ultrawide comes from GalaxyCore (12MP, GC12A2), and the selfie camera is a 12MP Sony IMX825 — the same front sensor from the S25 FE.
All four cameras can shoot 4K at 60fps. The main sensor also supports 8K at 30fps.
The value question
The S25 FE launched in the UK at £649 and dropped to around £440 within a year — a 33% slide, per gagadget.com. The S26 FE is estimated at £520–£570 at launch, with US pricing expected around $650–$700. That's a higher starting point for a phone with no camera sensor upgrade.
The chipset swap is the main internal change: the S26 FE drops Qualcomm's Snapdragon in favor of Samsung's own Exynos 2500, a 10-core 3nm processor. Whether it closes the performance gap will matter, since past Exynos-versus-Snapdragon comparisons have often gone against Samsung's in-house silicon.
The rest of the spec sheet rounds out with a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display at 120Hz, a 4,900mAh battery, and 45W wired charging — an upgrade over the S25 FE's slower charging speed.
What to expect
Samsung is expected to use trade-in credits and promotional bundles to soften the launch price, as it has done before. The September 1 window puts the S26 FE ahead of Apple's iPhone 18 cycle, giving Samsung a clear run at back-to-school buyers. If you already own an S25 FE, the camera specs alone give little reason to upgrade. For everyone else, the real test is whether the Exynos 2500 delivers — and whether retailers discount quickly again.
