Phantom Blade Zero PC requirements revealed — a GTX 1660 will do, with caveats

Phantom Blade Zero has official PC system requirements, and they're more forgiving than the game's visuals suggest. Developer S-Game confirmed the specs alongside pre-order details: the game launches October 29, 2026 on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store) and PS5, priced at $59.99 / £54.99 for the standard edition — notably cheaper than the $70 that's become the new normal for big-budget releases.

The specs

Minimum configuration targets 1080p at 30fps with upscaling enabled. You'll need an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6GB) or AMD Radeon RX 5500 XT (8GB), paired with an Intel Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600, 16GB RAM, an SSD, and DirectX 12. That GPU is a 2019-era card — accessible, but the 30fps floor and upscaling dependency mean older machines won't run this cleanly.

The recommended spec steps things up to 1440p at 60fps with upscaling: an RTX 3060 Ti (8GB) or RX 6700 XT (12GB), alongside an i5-10600K or Ryzen 5 5600X, again with 16GB RAM and an SSD.

For ray tracing at 1080p/60fps, S-Game asks for at least an RTX 5060 (8GB). Full path tracing at 1440p/60fps requires an RTX 5080 (16GB) — the second-tier flagship from NVIDIA's current generation.

One gap: S-Game hasn't disclosed storage space requirements despite mandating an SSD. That figure is still missing from all official listings.

What to know before pre-ordering

Pre-orders are live now on the PlayStation Store, Steam, and Epic Games Store. The Deluxe Edition — which adds in-game bonuses — costs $69.99 / £64.99. Those prices are confirmed for the US and UK; other regional pricing should follow.

The game runs on Unreal Engine 5, which explains both the visual ambition and the upscaling requirement across every tier. Denuvo DRM is included, which historically adds some overhead on older CPUs — worth noting if you're running hardware from 2017 or earlier.

The game itself

Phantom Blade Zero blends East Asian aesthetics with steampunk and occult elements. You play as Soul, an assassin who is killed mid-mission and revived by a mysterious Doctor, with exactly 66 days left to settle his affairs. The arsenal runs to 30 primary weapons and 20 secondary ones. S-Game promises around 30 hours for the main campaign, with 30–35 hours of additional content, and four difficulty options. A checkpoint system means dying in the second phase of a boss fight restarts from that phase, not the beginning.

A dedicated State of Play showcase is scheduled for August 18, featuring roughly 20 minutes of new gameplay. A free demo may also appear around that time — a listing was spotted on the PS Store.
