Samsung Galaxy S27 Pro: Ultra cameras in a smaller body, no S Pen
Samsung is adding a new rung to its Galaxy S ladder. The Galaxy S27 Pro — the brand's first-ever "Pro" model — squeezes Ultra-level camera hardware into a smaller body, targeting anyone who wants the best Samsung shooter without committing to the largest phone in the lineup. A February 2027 launch is expected, with early pricing estimates landing around $1,200.
The design
CAD renders published by Android Headlines, in collaboration with leaker OnLeaks, show a horizontal camera plateau that replaces Samsung's long-running vertical camera stack. The layout echoes recent iPhone Pro models: two large lenses sit side by side on a wide platform, with a third module in a vertical "capsule" arrangement. The expected setup is a 200MP main sensor, a 50MP ultrawide, and a 12MP telephoto with 3x optical zoom — one step down from the 5x telephoto on the Ultra. The one other difference from the Ultra: no S Pen slot. The stylus stays exclusive to the Ultra model.
The specs and the price
Under the hood, the S27 Pro is expected to run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 — a confirmed chip name, per AndroidHeadlines — globally, with Samsung's in-house Exynos 2700 potentially appearing in select markets. RAM starts at 12GB, with 16GB likely in higher-tier configurations. Storage options are expected to cover 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB.
As SamMobile notes, the S27 Pro is a direct answer to a long-standing complaint: premium Samsung cameras were previously locked to the biggest, most expensive phone in the range. The Pro changes that. At an estimated $1,200, it slots between the S26+ ($1,099) and the S26 Ultra ($1,299) — though memory chip cost pressures could push the final price higher.

All four S27 models — base, Plus, Pro, and Ultra — are now registered in the GSMA regulatory database, which is a required step before any commercial launch.
What to watch
The S27 Pro sits squarely against the iPhone 17 Pro in size and ambition. Samsung hasn't confirmed pricing, regional availability, or battery specs yet. The full lineup reveal is expected in February 2027.
