GPD is preparing a modular handheld game console based on the Android operating system

Chinese company GPD, which is known for its Windows-based portable game consoles, is preparing a new model for release.

What we know

The novelty is called GPD-X. The device, unlike other consoles of the manufacturer, will come with Android 11 operating system and pre-installed Google services. In addition, the device will feature a modular design. Users will be able to install different types of joysticks.

GPD-X will come with a 6.81" display. It will have a hole for the front camera. Also, the novelty will be equipped with a 7000 mAh battery, a MediaTek Helio G95 processor, 6 GB of RAM, 128 GB of UFS 3.1 ROM, a slot for a memory card and a SIM. It will be used exclusively for mobile Internet. No calls and SMS support in the device.

There is no information yet, when the release of GPD-X will take place. The price is also unknown. We can only assume that the console will cost less than Valve Steam Deck  ($399).
