We finally waited: Redmi Note 8 got the stable version of MIUI 12.5 on Android 11

Xiaomi has already managed to update MIUI software in several dozen smartphones. Even the Redmi Note 7, Redmi's first smartphone as an independent brand, received a stable version of MIUI 12.5. But the best-selling Redmi Note 8 has been constantly bypassed by the updates. But it couldn't go on like this indefinitely.

Xiaomi has officially announced the release of the smartphone software MIUI 12.5, numbered v12.5.1.0 RCOCNXM. The shell is based on the Android 11 operating system, which is clear from the firmware letter designation (R). We also see that so far the update is being sent out in China (CN). The global version is expected by the end of the month. The update will be distributed "by air".

Recall, the Redmi Note 8 is a hit in late 2019 and early 2020. It was the most affordable smartphone with a 48MP camera at a price starting at $135 at the time of its launch, and at the end of the last quarter of 2019, it topped the ranking of the most popular Android phones. MIUI 12.5 firmware on Android 11 is the latest big update. The Redmi Note 8 will only receive security patches in the future.
