Windows 11 release date published

At the end of June 2021, Microsoft announced the Windows 11 operating system. It became available for the Developer Preview program participants, and now the company has announced the official release date of the OS.

When is the release?

Rumors of a fall release of the operating system have been confirmed. But we have to wait two weeks shorter than expected. Earlier it was mentioned that the release date would be October 20. But Microsoft is going to launch free upgrade of the operating system for Windows 10 users on October 5.

As usual, the update will be sent out in stages. The first to receive the update will be new computers that meet the minimum system requirements. Then the company will select PCs taking into account their age, reliability, technical parameters and other factors.

Microsoft says that all PCs will be upgraded "over the air" by mid 2022. Users of older PCs will be able to install Windows 11 manuallyby downloading an ISO image of the operating system from the Redmond-based company's official website.
