An electric Zaporozhets from Ukraine managed to overtake the Tesla Model S

A resident of Kropivnitsky decided to modify a ZAZ-965, popularly known as "Zaporozhets". After the upgrade the car was able to overtake the Tesla Model S on the highway.

ZAZ-965 became a base for electric vehicle. The enthusiast installed the power plant of the first generation from Nissan Leaf. The upgrade allowed the "Electrozaporozhets" to overtake the 2012 Tesla Model S.

Blogger has been working on the car for a long time. A few months ago he achieved acceleration to 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds. Later the vehicle burned down, but the enthusiast restored it. After another upgrade, "Zaporozhets" can accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while Tesla Model S for this requires a second and a half more.
