14 years in the making: Apple sold its 2-billionth iPhone

Apple has broken its next record and reached a round figure in sales of iPhone smartphones.

How much?

Apple recently sold its 2-billionth by account smartphone. But the most interesting thing is that the company itself modestly concealed - we learned about this achievement thanks to Asymco analysts who say:

"Just recently the 2-billionth iPhone was sold. In contrast to the 1-billionth, there was no  announcement or celebration. This is partly because Apple has stopped reporting product shipments, but partly because talking about 2 billion is not as interesting as talking about 1 billion. When the numbers get that big, there is a desensitization"

But at it is actually impressive, because it is the result of 14 years of work. It was 14 years ago that Apple sold its first original iPhone for 400 dollars.

By the way, the total number of iPhone users now exceeds 1 billion. iPhone owners make up about 26% of all smartphone users.
