From "Bridgertons" and "The Witcher" to "Tyler Rake" and "The Bird Box": Netflix named its most popular series and movies

During Code 2021 conference co-CEO and content director Netflix Ted Sarandos shared information about most popular movies and series of the streaming service. Usually Netflix is reluctant to share such data, but here surprisingly revealed detailed statistics.

What's in the

 top?

The first slide shows the top 10 movies and shows by the number of accounts that watched them. Only accounts that have watched at least two minutes of a tape within 28 days of its release were counted.

So, in first place among the series is the pseudo-historical costume first season "Bridgertons" (82 million), which was watched with a sinking heart by the fair half (and not only). And "Bridgertons" even overtook "Lupin" with the peerless Omar Sy in the lead role and "The Witcher" with its own army of fans. The latter two have 76 million accounts each.

As for the movies, here the picture "Tyler Rake: Operation Rescue " with 99 million accounts took the lead. Next are "Bird Box" (89 million) and "Spencer's Justice" (85 million).

In addition, statistics are shown for viewing time for 28 days after release. Among TV series, the leaders are again"Bridgertons" , on which users have spent a total of 625 million hours. Second place went to "Paper House" (619 million), while third place went to  the third season of "Very Stranger Things" (582 million).

In the film section, the champion is "Bird Box" with 282 million hours of views. "Tyler Rake: Operation Rescue " dropped to second place (231 million), while "bronze" went to "Irish", who has 215 million hours.
