Very old Huawei flagships get HarmonyOS

Huawei is not yet planning to release a global version of the HarmonyOS 2.0 operating system. However, it is actively expanding the reach of its proprietary software in China.

What is known?

Five older flagship smartphones received HarmonyOS 2.0. True, so far we are talking about the debut beta version, which is numbered v2.0.0.55.

A test build of the operating system is available for Huawei P10 and Huawei P10 Plus. Both models were announced in 2017 and are powered by the HiSilicon Kirin 960 mobile 16nm processor. These are the first smartphones with a dual main camera.

An update has also been released for the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro and Mate 9 Porsche Design. They too are equipped with the Kirin 960 chip. The entire family came out almost five years ago (November 2016). There is no information about the release of the stable version of HarmonyOS 2.0 yet.

In addition to the flagships of the 2016 and 2017 releases, the first beta version of the operating system received two more models of the budget class. These are Huawei Enjoy 9 Plus and Huawei nova 3.
