In late September, Xiaomi introduced smartphone CIVI with 120Hz AMOLED screen, 32MP camera for selfies and Snapdragon 778G processor. As it turned out, the novelty was the most popular phone in the $385-465 price segment.
This was written by Liu Weibing, one of the vice presidents of the company from the Celestial Empire and head of the Redmi brand in parallel. The new product was positioned as a smartphone for women, and the gender marketing has paid off.
It took the company only 5 minutes to make about ¥200 million ($31 million) during its first sale. In doing so, 60% of the buyers turned out to be women. Since Xiaomi CIVI was aimed specifically at them, the manufacturer said that the goal was achieved.
Recall that the novelty also got a 4,500 mAh battery with 55-watt fast charging, a 64 MP + 8 MP + 2 MP main camera, stereo speakers, NFC and a headphone jack. Xiaomi CIVI is available in 8/128GB, 8/256GB and 12/256GB variants priced at $405, $450 and $495 respectively.
