Old budget Redmi unexpectedly gets stable MIUI 12.5

The budget smartphone Redmi, announced in mid-autumn 2019, quite unexpectedly received a global stable version of the software MIUI 12.5.

Who updated

We are talking about the model Redmi 8. It was unveiled on October 9, 2019 and went on sale three days later with Android 9.0 Pie operating system pre-installed and MIUI 10 branded firmware.

Over time, the company has updated the smartphone to Android 10 and MIUI 12. It is now available with the global European version of MIUI 12.5 numbered v12.5.1.0 QCNEUXM. Stable firmware is also built on Android 10 OS. This is the last major software update. It will get bug fixes and security patches in the future. By the way, the update has brought a patch for June 2021.

Recall that the Redmi 8 is equipped with a Snapdragon 439 processor, a 5000 mAh battery, a 12 MP + 2 MP primary camera and an 8 MP front-facing camera. Also note the 6.22" IPS HD+ screen, headphone jack and 18W wired charging.
