Google Pixel 6 Pro lost to iPhone Xs Max in Geekbench 5

The Tensor mobile platform didn't quite do well in the Geekbench 5 performance test, losing even to Apple's chip from three years ago.

What's known

Last week, Google unveiled the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro smartphones with its proprietary Tensor single-chip system. The mobile processor is made by 5-nm technology, but the manufacturer is not actively advertising its SoC. Perhaps because of not the highest performance.

Google's Pixel 6 Pro has passed the performance test in Geekbench 5. The Tensor mobile chip, though it has two Prime Cortex-X1 cores at once with a peak frequency of 2.8GHz, failed to beat Apple's A12 Bionic processor, which debuted in the iPhone Xs Max three years ago.

Tensor scored 1,012 points in the single-core test, and in multi-core mode the result was 2,760 points. By comparison, the already mentioned Apple chip was awarded 1117 and 2932 points respectively by the software. To be fair, it should be noted that there are also screenshots of the test Pixel 6 Pro with 3045 points in Multi-Core mode on the web.
