A couple of weeks ago it was reported that Xiaomi 11T will be released in China as Redmi K40s with a slight change. But now it has been revealed that Xiaomi is not planning to release the new affordable flagship in the home market.
Liu Weibing, vice president of Xiaomi and CEO of Redmi, said. Last year, the Redmi K30s, released in time for the 11.11 sale, was a Chinese copy of the Xiaomi Mi 10T and also the world's cheapest Snapdragon 865-powered smartphone.
Xiaomi 11T features a 6.67" AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate, Dimensity 1200 chip, 5000mAh battery and a 108 MP + 8 MP + 5 MP primary camera. All this was promised by the Redmi K40s as well, and the only difference was supposed to be the fast charging power, upgraded from 67W to 120W.
However, the company no longer intends to develop the Redmi K40 family. This is due to the fact that Redmi K50 powered by Snapdragon 898 is expected to be launched in the near future, as announced by the Redmi brand manager.
