Diablo IV and Overwatch 2, which already had no release date, will now release even later than they could. This was revealed in a fresh report Activision Blizzard to investors
Judging by the appeal, both games were going to be released in 2022.
"As we dealt with new management Blizzard and franchise developers - especially the latter in some key creative positions - it became apparent that some of the content Blizzardplanned for next year would benefit from more production time to reach its full potential.
While we're still set to release a significant amount of content from Blizzardin 2022, the release Overwatch 2 and Diablo IV will occur later than originally planned.
These are some of the most anticipated games in the industry, and our teams have made great strides towards completing them in recent quarters. However, we believe that giving developers additional time to complete ongoing development, and continuing to ramp up creative resources for release will ensure that these attractions will delight and engage users for years to come.
These decisions will hinder the financial upturn we anticipated in the coming year. But we're confident we've set the right course for our people, our players and the long-term success of our franchises." in the report
