Jack Dorsey will soon step down as CEO of Twitter, according to message CNBC. Twitter shares jumped more than 10% on this post, but more details on who could be Dorsey's successor were unknown at the time.

A little later, Dorsey via his own Twitter account confirmed this news. CTO Parag Argaval will take over as CEO, Dorsey will remain on the board until the end of his term and then leave.

Then, in 2015, he became interim CEO when Dick Costolo stepped down. A few months later, Dorsey was named permanent CEO.
