Biggest reorganization since 2017: Samsung merges mobile and consumer electronics business

Samsung Electronics today announced a massive business reorganization and management reshuffle.

What will change?

Primarily, the company merges the mobile division with the TV and consumer electronics divisions. Now this is one area called SET. There will also be a second division called Device Solutions (DS), which will combine semiconductors and other components.

Accordingly, the leadership is changing. The new SET division will lead Chon-hee (JH) Han (Jong-Hee (JH) Han), who is a leading TV expert and is instrumental in the company's leading position in global TV sales 15th year in a row. The company expects it to "strengthen synergies between the various SET businesses and foster the development of new businesses and technologies."

The DS division will have its own leader - Kyehyun Kyung, who was the CEO of Samsung. Electro-Mechanics and is an expert in semiconductor design.
