Adobe has released a new beta version of its Express mobile app for iOS and Android, adding generative artificial intelligence features based on Firefly technology. Previously, these tools were only available to users of desktop versions.

Here's What We Know

The new Adobe Express app lets you create a variety of creative content such as social media posts, posters, and banners. Creative Cloud subscribers can also open and edit Photoshop and Illustrator files directly on mobile devices.

During the beta, Express' premium tools, including background removal, will be available for free. However, special credits will be required to use Firefly's AI capabilities like text-to-image conversion, generative fill and styling effects.

Beta users will receive 25 generative credits each month. After the official release, their number will depend on their Creative Cloud subscription level.

Mobile Express uses the same platform as the desktop version, updated in 2023. This will allow collaborative work on the same project from different devices.

For generative functions, processing takes place in the Adobe cloud. A list of compatible smartphones is available on the company's website.

Flashback

Adobe Firefly is a family of generative artificial intelligence models created by Adobe for Creative Cloud. They are available as standalone web apps from September 2023.

The models focus on generating image and text effects, with the goal of improving creative workflows in Adobe applications. Firefly helps extend natural creativity by allowing you to generate images from text descriptions, apply styles to words and phrases, and create and edit vector elements.

According to the developers, the tool is designed to be safe for commercial use and supports the creative process by enriching it with new features.
