No greetings: Apple has cut the voice command to call Siri

Apple made a small but important announcement regarding its Siri voice assistant at the traditional WWDC conference.

Here's What We Know

So, the company has decided to shorten the famous phrase for calling the Siri voice assistant. Now users don't have to say "Hey Siri" - just say "Siri". Once Siri is activated, users can sequence multiple commands without having to reactivate the assistant.

The new voice command will appear in iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma, which were unveiled at the same presentation. Their first beta versions are already available for developers (from June 5).

That means Siri will respond to the new voice command on any device: smartphone, tablet, computer that updates to iOS 17, iPadOS 17 and macOS Sonoma. But there's a catch: this feature will be limited to Macs with Apple Silicon and second-generation AirPods Pro.
