Apple continues to lead the global electronics market, but in the second quarter of 2022, its share declined compared to both the first quarter and the same period in 2021.

Analyst firm IDC published a report on its research on the wearable electronics market from April through June inclusive. Apple is firmly in the lead with a 25% share. That's down 6% from the start of 2022 and 3% from the second quarter of 2021.

In addition to Apple, South Korea's Samsung, China's Xiaomi and Huawei, and India's Imagine Marketing are in the top five. All other firms have a total share of 43%. Over the year, the market for wearable gadgets declined by 6.9%. Total sales totaled 107.4 million units.

IDC predicts that 535.5 million wearable devices will be sold in 2022. This figure is at the level of 2021. At the same time in 2023, analysts expect to see an increase in demand. In particular, for smart watches and fully wireless headphones.
